Game of Thrones season 6
Cersei and Jaime
relationship will get 'juicy and dark' in Game of Thrones season 6
So far, we've watched them
maintain a secret – and extremely passionate – incestuous bond, throw a young
boy from a tower (“the things I do for love”), and survive the death of two of
their three children.
But, according to actress Lena
Headey, when it comes to the relationship between her Game of Thrones character
Cersei Lannister and on-screen brother Jaime (Nicolaj Coster-Waldau), we ain't
seen nothing yet.
The show's forthcoming sixth
season (which starts this April) is when things will really take a turn for the
strange.
Game of Thrones season six: 6 big questions
“It's probably her most interesting
season,”Headey told Entertainment Weekly, when asked what viewers can expect
for Cersei in season six. “She really has nothing to lose and she has
everything to gain from a horrible position she finds herself in.”
“Her relationship with Jaime is
at an all-time weird level,” the actress added, before describing the new
season with the words: “It's juicy, and it's so f------- dark.”
Previously, fans of the show and
of George RR Martin's novels speculated that the twins might be growing apart.
While Jaime appeared to be developing
something of a conscience, Cersei (who spent most of last season
plotting to bring down her rival and daughter-in-law Margaery Tyrell before
falling victim to her own schemes) was in no such danger.
But, if the latest trailer is
anything to go by, season six may see the pair grow closer than ever.
"We're the only ones that
matter," Jaime tells his sister in a new scene. "Everything they've
taken from us, we're going to take back – and more."
